Magreb: Top Five Sweets and Drinks

1. Delicious turkish coffee - like espresso but better, I'm not sure what makes it so transporting, but I like it.

2. Indigenous Coca-cola - to see what I mean, check out this link.

3. Fresh and cheap orange juice - the economics of OJ in America are horrible...Why does a small glass cost at least 3 dollars when you can buy a whole bag of oranges for that much and get a liter of juice?

4. Cakes and little pastries at Abi's sister's house - check out the spread.

5. MOROCCAN TEA! -- sugar and mint, combined with green tea leaves and hot water make a refreshing beverage.

i enjoy this little food and drink odyssey. because, let's be honest, one of the best things about travelling is the eating experience. i mean you could talk about art or history, but when you've just chowed down on something tangible and highly delicious, all that intangible crap can soak its head.

Try the turkish coffee milkshake at Barney's if you're feeling nostalgic when you get home.
